🏛️ Free Museum Days

Many of Chicago’s major museums offer free admission to Illinois residents on select dates throughout February. Availability varies by institution and requires proof of residency at entry.

Tip: Free days can be popular, so arriving early or reserving tickets in advance is recommended.

  • February: 2, 4, 9, 11, 18, 23

    Admission is always free for Illinois teachers.

  • Free Winter Weekdays: February: 2-6, 9-13, 16-20, 23-27

    Admission is always free for Chicago teens under 18, all children under 14, Link & WIC cardholders, active-duty military, and current Illinois teachers & homeschool parents.

  • February: 3-6, 10-13, 16-20, 24-27

    Admission is always free for active-duty military and all veterans; active-duty Chicago Police Department members; active-duty Chicago Fire Department members; City Colleges of Chicago students, faculty, and staff; and Illinois teachers.

  • February: 4, 11, 18, 25

    Admission is always free for children 6 and under, military, and first responders.

    Admission is always free for children <3, active-duty military personnel, veterans, and Illinois teachers.

  • Families can enjoy free admission and a full day of kid-friendly activities, art-making, and live music at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
